New Zealand was an absolutely blast! From seeing a Colossal Squid, to sailing on the Sorren Larson. But swimming with the seals really took the cake. See, I don’t know how to swim. So the fact that they got me in the water…good on them. But those wet suits are awesome!! You just float right up! Maybe I should take one to the pool with me next time.
Welcome to the Beast Legends Website!
The show investigates and creates incredible creatures: Unidentified Mysterious Animals…animals unknown to science. In the same way that paleontology speculates about what dinosaurs were really like, our experts now do the same for creatures of legend.

Based on what we’ve gathered here from the witnesses, I’m quite surprised at how consistent it is with the description from the US soldier who fought in Vietnam. Well aside from the guy whose description sounded like a man who hasn’t bathed, or shaved in years.
The initial drawing I did, didn’t really change much based on the descriptions. BUT, based on my experience in the jungle, the terrain gave Steve and I a few ideas on how this Beast would live, how it would move. Which directed us in making a few modifications to make this Wildman walk like us but be at ease and able to move around quickly and undetected in this thick jungle.
The jungle was absolutely insane! Trekking through it, I felt like I lost 20 pounds! It’s thick, and dense, and slippery as hell! Every branch in the way is just out to get you and prevent you from going to where you needed to be! I got scratches all over my arms from the spikes on the branches! Who’d have thought that the biggest thing I need to be wary of was the plant life. That said, it was absolutely amazing in there! I felt like I was in Jungle Book. Steve was right, knowledge truly is power in there. Because I had no idea what would be in there, all I could think of was what could be there.
Later at night when we settled for camp the medic was snoring like crazy!!! I tried putting my headphones on to sleep, but I wanted to hear the noises of the jungle. When will I ever sleep in a freaking jungle again!? That evening when I got up to do some “business” I thought I was tripping out, because a lot of the plants were glowing!! I kept rubbing my eyes, to double check. And yup… they were glowing. Steve told me next morning, that some plants are luminescent and emit light in the dark. How cool is that!!
It’s hot, it’s muggy, it’s crowded. But also full of life! The city is vibrant, and beaming with energy, but the long flight here has left nothing in the gas tank for me. I’m not sure what we’ll find out from the locals, but we’ve been told there are a few eye witnesses here.
It’s going to be interesting seeing a different perspective. I wonder how different it will be from the account we have from a Vietnam Vet who saw it?
The first episode of Beast Legends airs tonight at 10PM EST on History Television Canada.
Wild Man of Vietnam follows the Beast Seekers across the remote, unexplored jungles of Vietnam in search of the Wildman, a giant, hairy, bloodthirsty beast similar to North America’s Bigfoot or Sasquatch.
Don’t Miss It!
Excitement and trepidation is what I’m feeling right now. I’m not sure what to expect from the jungle. I couldn’t feel more like a fish out of water right now. I’m a city boy, who works from the comfort of home. So this should be quite an experience.
